Know Your Wisdom

Introduction

A plant expends a great deal of energy producing a flower. The flower, more often than not, points its face toward the sun, unable to see the stalk, leaves and roots on which it depends.

Our conscious mind has a great deal in common with a flower. It tends to believe it is all there is to us, looking up at the sun and the outside world, blissfully unaware of its root. Yet that root is responsible for its nourishment and existence. The more we know of our own root, the more we know about the root of all things. The deeper we go, the more understanding we exhibit. With understanding comes compassion both for ourselves and others and, as an unexpected bonus, the more we know, the more we are set free. This book, being designed to promote thought, requires a little effort on your part. On the plus side however, it is written by a layman for laymen. In the time you are reading this book, may I suggest that you set aside all you have been taught, everything else you have read, all pre-conceived ideas and philosophies so that you truly approach it with an open mind. I recommend this book to those of you who feel that atheism is not enough and religion too much. For those people for whom the light has gone out and for those who view the future with a great deal of pessimism. For as you will see;

• We already know the answers. All we have to do is find the right questions". The answers are all around us but we are unable to see them until we ask the right question. Then we see the answers were there all the time. After all, we ourselves ARE the answer.
• If we wish to change the world, we must first change ourselves. Our inner conflicts are projected outwards into the outside world. Walls in our minds mean walls in the world. Only when we have peace of mind will we have peace on earth.
• The signs are appearing now of a collective change of mind. We are beginning to see that we can no longer go on the way we are.
• What I do believe is that whether we like it or not, mankind is about to undergo a psychological change. A change for the better. A change from caterpillar to butterfly.
